Back by popular demand, is peameal bacon on a bun on Sunday, November 12 after the 9:15 and 11:00 services. Thank you Paul Mayhew!
322 pounds of food were donated in October - WOW! Many thanks to St. Matthias & St. James and Sugarbush Christian Church. An extra thank you goes to the 23rd Guelph Sparks who, under the guidance of Deborah Murray and Grace Schmidt, contributed generously at Thanksgiving. This puts us 133 pounds over our goal of 1700 in 2017, but we can't rest on our laurels. As holidays approach, let us be aware that hunger and poverty don't take a vacation.  Possibly they may be felt even more keenly, so please continue to give generously! Special items of the month are canned salmon, tuna or chicken, and the perennial favourite, peanut butter.

There will be a Eucharist at Wellington Park Retirement Residence on Monday November 13 at 2:00 pm. Help with the service, including singers, is welcomed.

Last Monday overhead cleaning was done in the chancel and sanctuary. Thanks to everyone who helped to take everything out on Sunday and put it all back again on Tuesday. A special thank you goes to Laurie Douglas who spent all day Monday throughout the cleaning, washing woodwork, including the baseboards and altars.

It's not too late to win one of the Snowflake Gift Baskets. The sale will continue until Sunday, December 10 when the winners' names will be drawn after the Cookie Walk that morning. Tickets  will be available every Sunday morning downstairs after the services - $5 each or 3/$10.

Final 2017 Sales:  The Memorial Garden Committee will have its final 2017 sausage sale on Sunday November 18, following the 11 a.m. service.  Each $3.00 per sausage (or 2/$5) purchase helps the committee pay for bulbs, annuals, mulch, etc, plus the cost of lawn mowing and leaf removal.  Thanks  to all who come hungry and follow their noses down to the parish hall.  Don't worry...they will be back at it in the new year.

CCSC Christmas Gift Bag Campaign

Dear Supporters of Chalmers Community Services Centre,

Many, many thanks to everyone who has been donating to the year round food drive for CCSC. You are a most generous parish in helping to support these programs.

The Christmas season will soon be upon us and the CCSC Christmas Gift Bag Campaign is getting underway. We hope you will consider supporting this valuable outreach program. Following are the items which would fill a bag.

One pair of warm gloves
One pair of thick socks
Regular size shampoo (not conditioner)
Toothbrush
Toothpaste and/or dental floss
Shaving cream for men/box of tampons or pads for women
Shower gel, body wash, or soap
Antiperspirant/deodorant
Package of 5-10 disposable razors
Boxed candy or chocolate (not home made)
Small jar of instant coffee, box of tea bags, or tin/box of hot chocolate

Each year CCSC hears from their guests how grateful they are to receive this gift, and that it is the ONLY gift they receive. For this reason please include new, good quality items in original packaging. Please indicate whether the bag is for a male or female. Note that there is no need for the items to be gift wrapped. Christmas Gift Bags can be delivered in new, reusable shopping bags which guests can then use to take food home. We are very aware that good quality gloves and socks can be expensive and the cost of filling a bag quickly mounts up. Consider sharing the cost and the shopping with 1 or 2 friends or another family.

Beginning Sunday, November 12 through to Tuesday, December 5 the bags may be placed on the pulpit steps on Sundays and Wednesdays, or dropped off to the office through the week. Please direct questions to Wendy Woodhouse, between or after Sunday services, or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . It's also helpful for CCSC to know how many bags are likely to be donated so if you are planning to participate please let Wendy know.
Last Monday overhead cleaning was done in the chancel and sanctuary.

Thanks go to everyone who helped take everything out on Sunday  and put it all back again on Tuesday. A special thank you goes to Laurie Douglas who stayed all day Monday during the cleaning and washed woodwork, including the baseboards and altars.

The Snowflake Lunch & Bake Sale
held on November 4 was another resounding success thanks to the dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly before, during and afterwards! Thank you everyone!
